Ricochet reacts for the first time after Tony Khan welcomes him to AEW following his surprise debut

Publish date: 2024-07-23

AEW recently held its second ‘All In’ event at Wembley Stadium in London. The show featured several surprises, such as the return of Jamie Hayter, an appearance by Sting, and the debut of Ricochet. Shortly after his first appearance in AEW, Tony Khan welcomed his latest signee with the ‘All Elite” graphic and a post on X. The former WWE Superstar replied with rocket emojis, excited for the next chapter of his life.

News broke out earlier this year that the 35-year-old’s contract with WWE was coming to an end in 2024. He became a free agent by July and started exploring potential options. Furthermore, there was a high chance that he would not be re-signing with the Stamford-based promotion. This was further confirmed when he was written off WWE TV after being destroyed by Bron Breakker.

As many fans expected, the former Intercontinental Champion made his way to AEW and debuted in the Casino Gauntlet Match at All In. The winner of this match would get a guaranteed title shot at the AEW World Championship. The Highlight of the Night clearly did not want to miss this golden opportunity and made an appearance during the match.

The match featured several wrestlers that popped the British crowd, such as Zack Sabre Jr. and former ROH World Champion Nigel McGuiness. The crowd continued to lose it when the former Speed Champion made his entrance and hit some of his classic high-flying moves. Unfortunately, he was unable to win the title shot as the Gauntlet match was won by Christian Cage.

Ricochet trades jabs with multi-time champion Kyle Fletcher on X shortly after making his AEW debut at All In

The news of Ricochet being all elite has been very exciting for wrestling fans. He can take part in various new match-ups in AEW, along with re-visiting some of his greatest hits. Will Ospreay had already teased going head-to-head with him much before he even signed with the company. However, it appears that the erstwhile Prince Puma has made an enemy in AEW with just a single appearance.

Shortly after the former WWE Superstar’s debut at All In, the AEW X account posted a video of Don Callis challenging the 35-year-old for a match against Kyle Fletcher on this week’s episode of Dynamite. The former ROH TV Champion went on to take several shots at his next opponent on X.

Wait…why is being a CHAMPION a bad thing??

Plus, I hate to say it but more people watch those matches than one of yours. But don't worry, I'll change that for you. https://t.co/qFdiGNpbVx

The Australian called his time in WWE a “sabbatical from pro wrestling” and made fun of his stint on WWE Speed. The former US Champion replied with a surprising message. He seemingly took a shot at AEW’s low view count, claiming that more people watched Speed than any of Fletcher’s matches.
