Middleton man arrested for sexual battery and assault after shots fired incident
MERIDIAN, Idaho (CBS2) — On July 8, at 2:22 a.m., Meridian officers responded to reports of shots fired on the 500 block of S. Sonata Lane involving a gray Dodge Durango.
The calling party, known to the victim, stated the suspect, later identified as 22-year-old Donovan Mead of Middleton, sexually battered a 17-year-old female and left the scene in a gray Dodge Durango.
Updates were provided by Ada County Dispatch, indicating that Mead proceeded to fire a handgun toward multiple people attempting to confront him about the assault. Meridian officers arrived and began searching for the suspect.
While officers used an aerial drone, the Dodge Dakota was located in a drainage canal on the 700 block of E. United Heritage with a handgun inside. Mead was found walking just east of the vehicle.
Mead was contacted by police and determined to have an outstanding warrant. Mead was arrested for one count of felony Aggravated Assault, one count of felony Children-sexual Battery of Minor Child 17 Years of Age, one count of misdemeanor Use of Deadly Weapon and a misdemeanor warrant for reckless driving.
