He is known for his roles in the films Hotel for Dogs, The Perfect Game, New Year’s Eve (2011), Tom Sawyer & Huckleberry Finn (2014), Grantham & Rose, The Valley, Adverse, and, in voice role, The Ant Bully, Everyone’s Hero, Rio, Khumba, Rio 2, two Teen Titans animated films, and The Emoji Movie; on the shows Go, Diego, Go!, as the voice of the title character; Wizards of Waverly Place, and The Fosters, and in the made-for-tv movie Johnny Kapahala: Back on Board.

Jake is the son of Giny Rodriquez Toranzo and Joey Szymanski. His surname, Szymanski, is Polish. Jake’s father has Polish, English, and Irish ancestry. Jake’s mother has Spanish, Puerto Rican, and Argentinian ancestry. His family owns the historic restaurant The Clarksville Inn in West Nyack, New York.
