Firemen to deliver letters and holiday cheer
MOUNTAIN HOME, Idaho (CBS2) — According to a recent news release, Santa's official mailbox will be out and ready to receive letters from children in Mountain Home starting Nov. 22.
Mountain Home Firemen take the letters written to Santa and deliver them to the North Pole. Once Santa answers them, elves return the letters to the Fire Department members, who return them to the children via a Shiny Red Sleigh (firetruck). Every child gets a candy cane for being so good this year.
Letters from Santa will be delivered to children on Dec. 14 and Dec. 21 between 6 and 8 p.m. Bring an acceptable physical address and phone number along with the child's name.
Letters from families should be bundled together to ensure letters are all delivered on the same night. The mailbox is at Fire Station 1 on the corner of South 2nd East & East 2nd South Street and will be picked up on Dec. 20 at 4 p.m.
Contact Fire Station #1 at (208)587-2117 if you have questions.
